Lorenz, Benavidez, Shelton win BISD election

Buckholts voters placed three on the school board on Saturday, May 1.
Voters elected Leslie Lorenz, Jessie Benavidez, and James Shelton to the BISD board in a highly contested race.
Lorenz received 49 votes, Benavidez received 37 votes and Shelton received 31 votes to win.
Others voting totals were: Kerri Hernandez with 28 votes, Diana Alvarado with 26 votes, Ysenia Duran with 22 votes, Ronnie Tanner with 19 votes, Angel Carrasco with 16 votes, and Chevo Velez with 15 votes.
