Helping Hands

Cameron residents quickly got to work to help their neighbors on Saturday after the historic winter storm that happened a few week's ago. A group of men organized by Ed Quintin Wells and Justin Tucker lead the charge to pick up limbs all over town. An overwhelming number of people were involved including Wendell Cryer and Keaton Denio with their skid steers. More than 100 trailers full of limbs were hauled off from all around town. Meals were given out at the Blessings From God Food Pantry also on Saturday to anyone needing them. The food was provided by the Texas A&M Forestry Service. The Milam County Sheriff’s Office and Emergency Management Coordinator Bryan Burns worked to get water to the county for those who were without last week delivering to the Rockdale Police Department and Buckholts and Cameron schools so they would be able to be open on Monday. Thank you to everyone who pulled together to help in our community. We are sure there are many unsung heroes of the last week and we thank you.
