General election set for May 6

Milam County Commissioners accepted multiple interlocal agreements with the various cities and schools to host the upcoming General Election on May 6 during a meeting on Monday. 

County Clerk Jodi Morgan said the election will feature the usual four early voting locations and seven countywide polling places on Election Day.

The election will feature the creatoin of an Emergency Services District for Milam County along with several school and city elections. 

The Court accepted bond for Cynthia DeLaRosa in the Milam County Tax Office and a certificate of completion for County Judge Bill Whitmire. 

County Extension Agent Micah Holcombe and WIC representative Jennifer Ranspot were on hand to proclaim March as National Nutrition Month. 

In other business: final re-platting was adopted for Los Ranchitos and Godfrey subdivisions; several variances and utility installations were accepted; and a letter of agreement with Mark McKibben regarding the housing of stray dogs for the county was approved at a flat rate of $2,500 per month.
