Gause Baptist set for Historical Marker

Gause Baptist Church and The Milam County Historical Commission will dedicate the historical marker awarded to the church by the Texas Historical Commission on Sunday, March 10, at 2 p.m. at the church.

The church is located at 114 W Walnut in Gause.

The Reverend Ryan Karl is pastor of the congregation that was established in 1877. The congregation is noted for its individual members who have been and continue to be pillars of faith and service for the community.

The purpose of the local historical commission is to preserve, protect, and promote history within the county.

The Commission members are volunteers appointed by the County Commissioners Court to serve. The meetings are open to the public.  Current members are from all across the county including Gause, Milano, Rockdale, Cameron, Thorndale, and San Gabriel. Holly Jentsch of Gause is the current Chairman of the Commission.

Anyone interested in promoting and preserving Texas history, particularly involving Milam County, is invited to attend the Commission’s meetings and to attend this marker dedication celebration.
