Fighting Yoemen

Yoe High Principal Brian Stork holds a donation to YHS from Yoe Graduate Bob Dymke. The 1960 Cameron Yoemen Football team were the Tri-Champs of 19AA.  This was the first year for Coach Billy Bates.  This is also the first year for the wording “Fighting Yoemen” was adopted. Coach Bates had  “Fighting Yoeman” printed on every players white shirt.  Coach Billy Bates was trained under Paul Bear Bryant who used the term Fighting Texas Aggie.  Coach Bates brought this tradition to Cameron thus starting the Yoemen Tradition of the wording Fighting Yoemen. This will be displayed at YHS Field House.
