COVID-19 case count up to 35 in Milam County

The COVID-19 case count jumped by three again this morning.

Milam County Judge Steve Young announced three new confirmed cases of the virus in Milam County early this morning, June 5.

All three cases are Milam County residents from the central part of the county.

One of the three is probably community spread from a family member and the other two work out of county, which means the infection could have taken place out of county.

Young said all three are currently self-quarantined and are expected to recover.

There are now currently 35 confirmed cases in Milam County with seven active cases. There are currently 19 individuals being monitored by the county and one is hospitalized. There has still only been one fatality from the virus.

Young said the state has been testing the nursing homes in the county, but there are no results for those tests yet.

He also said there will be another round of testing in Milano in the next 10 days.
