Christmas Parade will usher in holiday season downtown

Cameron’s Christmas Festival and Parade will kick off the holiday season on Dec. 1.

The theme for the parade this year is Musical Notes and Holiday Floats.

Festivities kick off in our historic downtown square at 5 p.m. with, music, food trucks, wine wagons, arts, and crafts and more. Triple C Winery, Cloud Nine Coffee, 5D Travelin’ Tavern, Barking Armadillo Brewing, Kona Ice and Hot Corners will bring food and drinks to the downtown. They will be there before, during and after the parade.  

Arts and Crafts Vendors, Farmers Market Vendors, New Vision Ministry Church with Mexican Sweet Bread, First Baptist Church with Hot Chocolate, and others.  Holy Ground Baptist Church will have a Stuffed Animal Drive for McLane’s Children Hospital, please bring a new stuffed animal to donate.  

Enjoy Live Christmas Music in the gazebo featuring Cameron’s local favorite South 77 Band, who will kick off at 5:30 p.m. with music before, during and after parade. At 6 p.m. the Christmas Downtown Lighting Ceremony will begin with a brief ceremony before flipping the switch and lighting up the square with new Christmas lights and decor. 

At 6:30  p.m. the parade will start, and you don’t want to miss all the amazing floats, and vehicles from our local businesses and individuals that make Cameron come alive with Christmas themed decorations and characters. 

You are invited to shop local stores who will be open before the parade, such as The Bling Box Boutique, First Finance & Furniture, The Shop on Houston, The Venue by Railfan, HC on Main Catering, Farmers-To-Market Cameron Coffee Company, and Cameron Beer Market. Check out all the renovations and new businesses that are here and those that will be coming soon. Don’t forget to come back downtown for our other events this month to celebrate Christmas in Cameron.

United Portable Building has done it again! 

They have donated Santa’s Workshop 10’x16’ Cabin to raffle for fundraising for the Cameron Chamber of Commerce. This charming cabin will be where Santa will be at 5 p.m. before, and after the parade. Don’t forget to buy raffle tickets for Santa’s Workshop.  Visit the Cabin for your family Christmas photo. Tickets are $20 each or 6 for $100.  Contact a Chamber Board member or call or drop by the Chamber office at 102 E 1st Street.  Venmo and online payments available. 

We invite you to stick around after the parade and fireworks to enjoy the music and vendors to shop for local items for Christmas gifts. Hang on and wait for the announcement of the winners of Best Decorated Float, Best Decorated Vehicle, and others.
