Cameron sends incumbents back to city, school seats

Cameron voters sent incumbents back to represent them on the City Council and Cameron ISD Board of Trustees during Saturday’s election.

The the CISD Board election Jason Dohnalik and Alan Patterson were returned to their spots on the board.

Dohnalik received 228 votes, Patterson received 199 votes and Annisha Williams received 186 votes.

In the Cameron City Council election for the At-Large position Melissa Williams was returned to her seat. She received 232 votes to Ruth Humble Kruse’s 44 votes.

All other spots on the Cameron City Council were unopposed.

Maurice Goza will represent Ward 1, Kyle Deal will represent Ward 3 and Virgie Hardeman will represent Ward 5.



Voters in the Milano decided to send a few new faces to City Council.

Karl Westbrook defeated incumbent Roddy Gage in the mayoral election 50-40. Glenda Westbrook and Steve Honeycutt both won re-election. Bryan Woods unseated incumbent councilman David Gunnels Jr. by a 49-47 vote. 

In the Milano ISD trustee election, Carl Blake, Lynnette Taylor, and Greg Spears took the three open seats over two other challengers in Michael Andrews and Dennis Magee. Blake was the leading vote getter with 123.
