13th case of COVID confirmed

Milam County Judge Steve Young said there is now a 13th confirmed case of COVID-19 in the county.

This new patient is self-quaratined and is thought to have contracted the virus while working outside of the county.

Of the 13 cases in Milam County, nine have recovered.

According to the Milam County Health Department there are still four active cases.

Case 8 - Contact investigation Complete. Individual self-isolating and monitoring has begun.

Case 9 - Contact Investigation Complete. Individual self- isolating and monitoring has begun.

Case 12 - Milam County Resident who is out of county. Individual self-isolating where they are currently residing being monitored by local health department. 

Case 13 - Contact investigation Complete. Individual self- isolating and monitoring has begun.

There have been 58 people monitored throughout the county. There are currently 33 people being monitored by the health department. Individuals being monitored are close contacts of a positive case which are also self-isolated.

So far three patients have been hospitalized. One remains hospitalized. There has been one fatality in Milam County.
