Lee County pursuit ends in Milam County

A pursuit that began in Lee County ended in Milam County with one person in custody on Thursday afternoon.

The Milam County Sheriff’s Office was alerted by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office about 2:15 p.m. on April 24 about a pursuit of a stolen box truck that was heading toward Milam County. The chase was initiated by Lexington Police Department and was joined by Lee County deputies and Texas Department of Public Safety troopers. Police deployed spike strips to stop the vehicle. Those strips were successful by taking out a front tire on the box truck, bringing the chase to an end on US 77 at the US 79 overpass on the east end of Rockdale.
