Milam County 4-Hers receive top honors at Texas 4-H Roundup

Texas 4-H Roundup was held June 8-10 in College Station to allow 4-H members who compete at state level competition. 

These contests are qualifying contests and invitational contests meaning they could come without qualifying at the County and District level. Along with the contests, our 4-H members were able to be recognized for their Texas 4-H Foundation Scholarships.

The following youth competed this week and their accomplishments:

Ag Product Identification: Individual Awards: Third High - Marisol Hill; Fifth High - Gabriel Ramthun; First Place Team: Marisol Hill, Robert Miller, Gabriel Ramthun; Coach Jocelyn Ramthun

Plant Identification: Individual Awards: First High – J.W. Hollas; Second High - Jenna Lindig; Eighth High - Ryan Luckey; First Place Team: Jenna Lindig, JW Hollas, Ryan Luckey; Coach Irby McWilliams

Consumer Decision Making: Eighth Place Team: Mallory McDaniel, Robert Miller, J.W. Hollas and Colby Green; also participating - Hunter Hux, Camryn Green, Colton Barbo; Coach Micah Holcombe

We are so very happy to announce that Gabriel Ramthun received a Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Scholarship in the amount of $20,000, Kincaid Callahan received a $10,000 Ft. Worth Stock Show Syndicate scholarship, Colby Green received a $10,000 Davidson Foundation scholarship, Sydney Vaculin received a $10,000 McLean Estate scholarship, Grant Widner received a $5,000 Floyd Lynch Memorial scholarship, and Colby Barton received a $4,500 Producers’ Cooperative Association scholarship.
