July 4th Celebration
The Rockdale Chamber of Commerce is making plans for the Milam County July 4th Fireworks Celebration on Sunday, July 4, at Fair Park in Rockdale. The countywide community is invited to this free event which will include food vendors and a spectacular fireworks display at dark. The Chamber is seeking local businesses to host games for the kids to enjoy. Kids can enjoy unlimited play for a $5 donation (which also gets them a festive red, white and blue glow in the dark bracelet). Businesses should contact the Rockdale Chamber of Commerce at firstname.lastname@example.org to sponsor this year’s festivities. It’s a great way to market your business to a countywide audience and show your support of this community affair.

Old Town Cameron Railroad Museum
The Milam County Railroad Museum and Old Town Cameron will be kicking off new hours for our guests. Beginning in June, summer hours will be 10-4 Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. We also want to invite all of our Jr. Engineers to join us every Saturday from 10 until 12 to help us run the trains on the Old Town Cameron model and our training layout. Junior Engineers have been given a special Old Town Cameron pin. You must wear your pin when you attend. If you are between the age of 8 and 18, come to the Railroad Museum for a short training course so you can join the fun. We will be organizing a Junior Engineer Train Club this summer too! Stay tuned.
