Mardi Gras Bash planned for Feb. 23

Mark your calendar for Saturday, Feb. 23, for the seventh annual Mardi Gras bash to raise funds for the Christine Holcombe Memorial Scholarship Fund. The “Mardi Gras” bash will be held Saturday, Feb. 23, at Simon George Hall, 401 S. Karnes, in Cameron. The event will ‪start at 6 p.m. and will include a Cajun food dinner, live auction, a gun raffle and activities for the kids. Adult tickets are $10 and children under 18 are $5. More ticket information will be forthcoming. Over the past five years $77,500 in scholarships have been awarded to Milam County residents who are currently in college. If you would like to donate items for the auction, please e-mail cholcombememorial@gmail.com. Auction donations are appreciated and can be dropped off at Ideal Poultry in Cameron. The Mardi Gras bash was established to raise money for college scholarships to honor long time Milam County Extension Agent Christine Holcombe.
