POLICE BEAT: Watch for school zones

As we enter anew school year and all the obstacles that entails. Cameron Police Department wants to remind everyone to watch for and obey all signage in the school zones.

This is a zero-tolerance matter as we want to keep our students and drivers safe. There will be no dropping off students from the roadways, this includes Fannin, 22nd, 21st, Washington, 12th, 10th and any other roadway that provides access to the school.

We understand the lines can be long and frustrating, but our main goal is to keep everyone safe. Also, any unlicensed/ uninsured drivers will be cited, and the vehicle will be towed immediately.

There were several issues last year of unlicensed drivers driving to school and parking outside the parking lot. That will not be tolerated.

We wish the best to all students and the community this school year and we are always available with any questions you may have.
