Thorndale ISD Scores Big with T-Mobile’s “Friday Night 5G Lights” Program

Thorndale ISD and Bulldog fans have reason to celebrate after the district was awarded $5,000 through T-Mobile’s Friday Night 5G Lights promotion, a nationwide program that supports small-town schools with big spirit. The initiative, designed for communities with populations under 150,000, gives schools the chance to earn grants, facility upgrades, and national recognition by showing off their pride and rallying local support. While the $5,000 award is already a win for Thorndale, the stakes get even bigger in the next stages. Schools selected as finalists may receive larger awards, special game-day events, and ultimately compete for a grand prize that includes a $1,000,000 home field upgrade, expert consultation on stadium experiences, a weight room makeover by GronkFitness, and even a tailgate celebration in 2026.
