Rockdale Man Killed in Walker County Crash

Trenton Matthew Curl, 21, of Rockdale was one of four people that were killed in a Walker County crash late Saturday, May 16. The crash occurred on State Highway 30, west of Wesley Grove Road, which is between Huntsville and Roans Prairie. A 2019 Buick SUV, driven by Curl, was struck head on by a 2019 Jeep Wrangler that DPS troopers said crossed the center line of the roadway. Faithe Nicole Artherholt, age 21, of Leander as well as a tenyear- old child, whose identity was not released, were passengers in Curl’s vehicle. Nicholas Patrick Calhoun, age 23, of Huntsville was the driver of the Wrangler. All four victims in the crash were pronounced dead at the scene. According to DPS Sergeant Michael Aftosmes, the black 2019 Buick SUV driven by Curl was going west on Highway 30. For unknown reasons, the Wrangler driven by Calhoun that had been going east entered the westbound lane and struck the Buick.

Thorndale Ex Student News

I hope all you mothers out there had a wonderful Mother’s Day last Sunday. Mine was great with lunch out and a huge box of Lammes Longhorns, probably the last one unless someone buys them before they close in July, I think. Sure will miss their candy as we’ve bought it for the last 60 or 70 years. I think they had been in business for about 140 years. Great candy.
