Lady Yoe volleyball keeps it close with Troy

Lady Yoe Volleyball put up a huge fight against the seventh-ranked Troy Trojans on Tuesday night but fell in four sets 23-25, 22-5, 25-21, and 19-25 in their annual Dig Pink match with proceeds going to Breast Cancer Research. 

The ladies stayed close with Troy for the first two sets and defeated them in the third, but couldn’t hold on in the fourth set.

Lady Yoe standout Ja’Kerra Holt had a big night with eight kills and 11 digs. Haley Tucker added 12 digs and five kills on the night.

Ainsley Driska led with five Blocks while Tucker, Driska, and Makalyn Perez each recorded three aces in the match. 

The JV A won their match 25-18, 25-19 while the JV B fell 20-25, 27-25, 20-25.

The ladies picked up a much needed win on Friday, Oct. 9, over the Academy Bumblebees in straight sets 25-16, 25-18, and 25-19.

The ladies were again led by big nights from Ja’Kerra Holt with 10 kills and 10 digs and Haley Tucker with nine kills and five aces.

The JV A team won in a thriller 22-25, 25-23, and 25-22 while the JV B team fell 22-25, 12-25. 

The Lady Yoe will host the fourth-ranked Lexington Eagles this Friday with the varsity starting at 4:30 p.m.
