Lady Yoe defeat Rockdale

A walk-off hit by Emily Torres lead the Lady Yoe past Rockdale on Monday night in Cameron.

The game was tied at 5 with the Lady Yoe batting in the bottom of the seventh when Torres hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.

Rockdale opened up scoring in the first inning, when they singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, he Lady Yoe tied things up at five. Cheyenne Spillers drove in one when she singled.

The ladies tallied three runs in the third inning with batters Madison Brunson and Molly Oges knocking in runs in the inning.

Spillers earned the victory on the rubber. She lasted seven innings, allowing 11 hits and five runs while striking out two.

The Lady Yoe collected 12 hits. Spillers, Mia Wimmer, and Kenzie Lara each collected multiple hits. Spillers led the Lady Yoe with three hits in four at bats.

The ladies will be back in action on March 5-7 in the Franklin Tournament.
