Kenneth Ray McLerran (Snuffy) Oct. 21, 1952 – March 26, 2026
Kenneth Ray (Snuffy) McLerran went to be with the Lord on Thursday March 26, 2026. He fought a courageous battle against Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
Ken’s career included many skills. He was a lignite coal miner getting his start at Big Brown SES in Fairfield, Texas as a pumper. He progressed as a heavy equipment operator, coal hauler, shovel operator and lastly as a dragline operator at the Kosse Mine Operation in Robertson/Limestone County. He retired from Luminant Company after 37 years of faithful service.
Ken was proceeded in death by the mother of his children, Judy McLerran and his parents Harrison (Coach Mac) and Edna McLerran.
Ken leaves behind his wife, Debbie Keith Mc-Lerran of Morgan’s Point; daughter, Kristi Galbraith and husband Brad of Hico; son, Kurt McLerran and wife Melissa of Fairfield; step-daughter, Jennifer Cloudt and husband Darrell of Woodway; grandsons, Patton and Will Galbraith of Hico; step-grandson, Brice Cloudt attending Texas Tech in Lubbock; sister, Jean Mc-Lerran of Corpus Christi; brother, Johnny McLerran and wife Pam of Robinson; half-brother, Jonathan Mc-Lerran of Jarrell; plus his cherished nieces and nephews.
Ken loved being outdoors whether he was fishing, hunting or cooking his delicious barbecue for family and friends. He never met a stranger and was always able to talk about weather, fishing, or any other topic. He loved playing golf and was a near scratch golfer, winning numerous tournaments in the Fairfield area. He was proudly the President of the Fairfield Eagle Booster Club and President of the Fairfield Little League.
His greatest pride came while watching his children, Kristi and Kurt grow up. He helped coach their teams and proudly proclaimed that he never missed a game. When they came along, the grandsons, Patton and Will took top stage. He thoroughly enjoyed watching their academic awards, games and track meets. These two boys were the winners in his heart regardless of what the score said. A Pawpaw’s pride and joy for sure!
In recent years, Ken and Debbie have enjoyed many trips which allowed him to enjoy places he had never been. They especially loved to cruise and even enjoyed connecting with new friends they met there.
Ken was a 1971 graduate of Yoe High School, the 50th class of C. H. Yoe. He was a 3-year letterman in football, basketball, and track. Ken was a devoted Yoeman and continued to watch all their games in person or stream on TV.
Ken was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His smile, gift of gab and caring heart will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Yoe Booster Club in Cameron or the charity of your choice.
