DOUGLAS EARL MCFARLAND

Douglas Earl McFarland, 77, of Temple, passed away on Oct. 10, 2025, in Temple, Texas. He was born Dec. 6, 1947, in Cameron, Texas.

Douglas graduated from Yoe High School in 1966 and went on to earn his degree from Texas State Technical Institute in 1968. He dedicated 31 years of service as a Clinical Engineering Manager at Scott & White in Temple and later served as Director of Plant Operations at Lakeside Hospital in Bastrop for two years, before retiring in 2007.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl McFarland and Helen McFarland, and his sister, Charlotte Wade. He is survived by his sons, Brian McFarland and his wife Robin, and Christopher McFarland and his wife Brooke, as well as his daughter, Dawn McFarland. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Cody, Ryan, Harper, and Luke, and great-grandchildren, Clayton and Rayleigh.

Doug enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He will be remembered for his dedication to his family, work and his love for the outdoors.

The Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Marek Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron TX. Graveside funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15 at North Elm Cemetery in Cameron, with Russell Beimer officiating.
