Online threat made to Cameron ISD

On September 30, 2022, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) received a tip from a person who had knowledge of an online threat to cause harm to Cameron ISD.
The tip was referred to the Milam County Sheriff’s Office for investigation.  School Resource Deputies with the assistance of the FBI and Patrol Division located the subject’s location and device which was used to send the threating message.  Sheriff Mike Clore said that deputies interviewed the juvenile suspect, who was subsequently charged with making a Terroristic Threat that placed the public or a substantial group of the public in fear of serious bodily injury which is a felony of the third degree.
It is important to continue to stress the consequences of making threats either in person or online. Clore said, “the Milam County Sheriff’s Office and our partner agencies will continue to aggressively investigate any threat to our schools or community.”
