National Nursing Home Week

Residents of Legacy Nursing Center in Cameron celebrated National Nursing Home week on May 10-14 with a proclamation by Cameron Mayor Bill Harris and a celebration on May 11. Mayor Bill Harris presented the proclamation saying a nursing home is an asset which helps the community honor its commitment to provide health care needs of citizens of all ages; and as a business and professional citizen, a nursing home makes important contributions to the overall life of the community and is closely identified with it; and community awareness of its function and active citizen volunteer involvement in its daily operations are essential to the success of a nursing home in providing medical and social needs balanced for the optimum benefit of each patient; and for  awareness of the role of a nursing home plays in the community promotes greater understanding and helps create a stronger community.
