Milam County Junior Livestock Show returns for 2021

The Milam County Junior Livestock Show will kick off its 2021 season today at the Youth Exposition Building in Cameron.

Market rabbit judging was done on Wednesday night.

The ag mechanics competition, commercial heifer show and poultry show are all slated for today.

The commercial heifer show will begin at 11 a.m. ag mechanics will be at 1 p.m. The poultry show will begin at 5:30 p.m. with market broilers followed by turkeys.

On Friday exhibitors will compete in the market swine, market goat, market lamb and market steer shows.

The swine show begins at 9 a.m. followed by goats at 12:30 p.m. Lambs will be shown at 3 p.m. and steers at 6 p.m.

The Premium Sale is set for Saturday at 6 p.m.

The Baked Goods Show was held on Saturday and the winners announced.

The overall Grand Champion went to Bohn Towery of Cameron 4-H and Macelyn Furmage of Cameron 4-H won overall Reserve Champion. 

Furmage was the cake winner with Addalyn Gunn of Cameron placing second. 

Towery took home the top prize in pies with Hayden Johnson of Thorndale in second. 

Jace Davis of Thorndale 4-H won the cookie category with Jesalyn Miller of Milano taking second.

Showmanship awards went to Bohn Towery for Pee Wee, Taylor Faske for Juniors, and Colton Casey for Seniors.
