District Court Report

Under the direction of Bill Torrey, the Milam County District Attorney, the following felony cases were resolved in Judge John W. Youngblood’s 20th Judicial District Court, for the period of Jan. 28 through Feb. 1, 2019:

Roberto Cardoza, 28, of Cameron, was sentenced to six years confinement in TDCJ after previously being found guilty by a Milam County Jury to a Third Degree Felony, Assault Family Violence with Previous Conviction. Roberto Cardoza was also sentenced to six years confinement in TDCJ after pleading guilty to a Third Degree Felony, Injury to a Child James Ward Timmerman, 43, of Rockdale, was sentenced to one year in the Milam County Jail, probated for two years with standard conditions of probation including the successful completion of Anger Management and was ordered to pay a $2,000 fine after pleading guilty to a Lesser Included Class A Misdemeanor, Assault Causes Bodily Injury Family Member Trisha Annette Jones, 41, of Milano, was placed on three years Deferred Adjudication with standard conditions of probation and was ordered to pay a $2,500 fine and $8,022 restitution after pleading guilty to a State Jail Felony, Theft $2,500 - $30,000. The restitution was paid prior to the plea. Wayde Louis Patschke, 30, of Thorndale, was placed on three years Deferred Adjudication with standard conditions of probation, including 166 days in the Milam County Jail as a condition of probation and was ordered to pay a $2,500 fine and $325 in restitution to the victim after pleading guilty to a Third Degree Felony, Evading Arrest with Motor Vehicle Juan Mendez, 25, of Dallas, was sentenced to 90 days in the Milam County Jail after pleading guilty to a State Jail Felony, Possession of Controlled Substance Less than One Gram Mardavius Powell, 19, of Cameron, was placed on seven years Deferred Adjudication with standard conditions of probation including 158 days in the Milam County jail and the successful completion of anger management and was ordered to pay a $2,500 fine after pleading guilty to a Second Degree Felony, Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon Justin Thomas Sons, 24, of Cameron, was sentenced to three years confinement in TDCJ after pleading guilty to a Third Degree Felony, Assault Family Violence with Prior Conviction
