COVID UPDATE: Vaccinations continue

The active COVID-19 cases county is down to 15 in Milam County as vaccinations continue.

There will be a 500 dose second round Moderna clinic in Rockdale on Friday.

The county is accepting vaccination requests for Milam County residents who are homebound. Next week, they hope to begin administering homebound shots with the Moderna drug.

The county had hoped to use Johnson & Johnson, but with the suspension of that vaccine has decided to go with Moderna. This will mean two shots.

If you or someone you know is homebound call (254) 697-7000 or email Amy Guillen at aguillen@milamcounty.net.

The county is also now offering shots at the schools. If your child is 16 years of age or older we can vaccinate with the Pfizer vaccine. Please contact your school administration for a consent form and for dates and times of vaccinations.

If you are called to be vaccinated please arrive at your appointed time with your consent forms completed. There are different forms for the first round shot and different forms for the second round shot.

You may download the forms at milamcounty.net.
