COVID UPDATE: No new cases over the weekend

There were no new cases of COVID-19 announced in Milam County over the weekend and Friday's  report saw the first day with no new cases in a long time in the county.

"Today we have no new confirmed cases to report today," Milam County Judge Steve Young said Friday afternoon. "Three cases were discharged, and no one was admitted to a hospital. We tested ten individuals in Buckholts today, but no positive tests. Monday, we will be testing in Rockdale at the hospital from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The test is quick and free for any Milam County resident with symptoms."

Young said that Friday was a red letter day here in the county. He said that no new numbers had come in for the county over the weekend.

"We thank everyone for doing their part by wearing their mask and keeping their distance," he said. "Working together we can get through this!"

There are 463 confirmed cases across the county with 18 active cases. Seven people are currently hospitalized with five in serious condition.
