COVID UPDATE: County testing begins

There was only one new case of COVID announced on Tuesday, and one more person was admitted to the hospital for the virus. Ten more cases were announced on Monday with three admitted to the hospital.

The total cases for the county now sits at 441, with 26 active cases. The total number of people currently in the hospital is six.

Milam County Judge Steve Young said that 24 people were tested in Thorndale on the first day of rapid testing for the county.

Free COVID testing is going on around the county.

Testing today will be in Milano from 8 a.m. to noon at the Milano Fire Station, 203 E. US 79; and in Gause from 12:30-3 p.m. at Gause Fire Station, 110 E. Gause Blvd.

Testing will be done in Cameron on Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Cameron Fire Station, 1501 N. Travis and in Buckholts on Friday from 8 a.m. to noon at the fire station at 111 W. Main Street.
