2022 MCJLS sale earns over $320,000

Milam County Junior Livestock Show exhibitors took home $320,135 before added money during the Premium Livestock Sale on Saturday night.

The Grand Champion steer exhibited by Thorndale 4-Her Kennedy Hobbs brought $16,000. The Reserve Champion steer was exhibited by Kenzie Hobbs of the Thorndale 4-H.

Thorndale FFA member Kinley Meadors exhibited the Grand Champion swine. The Reserve Champion swine was exhibited by Thorndale 4-Her Riley Clinard.

Thorndale FFA member Jenna Lindig exhibited the Grand Champion lamb. The Reserve Champion lamb was exhibited by Thorndale FFA member Kale Meadors.

Cameron 4-Her J.W. Hollas exhibited the Grand Champion pen of broilers. The Reserve Champion broilers were exhibited by J.W. Minatrea of the Cameron FFA.

Rockdale FFA member Madison Gonzales exhibited the Grand Champion rabbits. The Reserve Champion rabbits were exhibited by Cameron FFA member Brooklyn Summers.

Rockdale FFA member Kayla Ehler exhibited the Grand Champion turkey. Milano 4-Her Cooper Popham exhibited the Reserve Champion turkey.

Thorndale 4-Her Kyrene Jackson exhibited the Grand Champion goat. The Reserve Champion goat was exhibited by Thorndale 4-Her Jacob Jackson.

Milano 4-Her Caylee Butler exhibited the Grand Champion pen of commercial heifers. The Reserve Champion pen of commercial heifers was exhibited by Cameron 4-Her Wylie Butler.

Showmanship awards went to: steers – senior Mason Leifeste, junior Wylie Butler, and peewee Wacey Butler; swine – senior Hadley Meadors, junior Riley Clinard, and peewee Camryn Travis; lambs – senior Garrett Reed, junior Kale Meadors, and peewee Laramie Mahan; broilers – senior J.W. Hollas, junior Hayden Johnson, and peewee Callen Vaculin; turkeys – senior Montgomery Popham, junior Isabella Alexander, and peewee Hayes Berry; goats – senior Kyrene Jackson, junior Wyatt Woods, and peewee Madison Stewart; and rabbits – senior Landon Terry, junior Carlie Eason, and peewee Kinsley Bailey.
