Area districts are getting trimmed up, as we enter the next round of Texas High School Football playoffs. Last weekend, in District 11-3A DI, Region III, only one team advanced to the Area round, and that was the Franklin Lions (9-2), who beat the Hallettsville Brahmas, 51-27. Exiting the playoffs from the district are Troy Trojans. Troy fell to the Columbus Cardinals 48-0. The Trojans end their season with a record of (5-6) and bi-district finalist.

Things have slowed down considerably here at my home after last weekend’s shock. My sister and family flew back to Ohio on Monday. Made a bit of a problem at the airport for them. Wrapped up a couple of Amish cakes real good and stuck them in my sister’s luggage. Well, you probably know what happened. I guess they thought it was a couple of bombs or even worse. Nephew offered them a piece of cake after they got them open. They didn’t think it was funny. Sure miss this house full of people. They got home just fine, though.
