A Letter to the Editor,
Tex-T opened a can of worms with the front page post about fixing some roads around here! I have been wanting to ask the same question. One city street in particular, 21st street that runs all the way down past the Cameron Country Club. That city street has been the worst street ever for many years, so they can’t say they have been planning on fixing it. I don’t understand how the elected city officials and the city employees can sleep at night knowing the horrible conditions of this city street. For years they have stopped their maintenance just past the school, instead of continuing past the country club to the bottom of the hill. Can anyone answer my question of Why? It is a disgrace when out of town guests come for a visit and see this terrible street. I know at least some of the elected officials play golf. Whether or not they drive nice vehicles, driving any vehicle down this pot hole on top of pot holes street is bad for all vehicles. You have a whole committee of people trying to convince businesses to move to Cameron, but the streets are pathetic. I think the city’s streets deserve more attention and better maintenance.
