Taylor recently got a new Goodwill store, and I must say, I’ve become a fan of thrifting lately. I hadn’t been to a Goodwill since my earliest days on Active Duty at MacDill Air Force Base, some 25 years ago. Back then I was perpetually broke, even picking up late-night shifts as a bouncer and one threeweek stint as a bartender, so getting furniture for an apartment I was never at had to be done cheaply. This was 2001, pre-9/11, peacetime, if you will. Things would change for all of us in uniform overnight after those planes hit the towers.
