Milam County Memorial Ruck &Ride Honors Local Heroes with Annual Event – Sponsorship Opportunities Now Open

The Milam County Memorial Ruck & Ride will return on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the Cameron Country Club, bringing together the community to honor fallen servicemen and first responders while raising support for their families and inspiring future generations. Founded in 2017, the Memorial Ruck & Ride ensures that the legacies of local heroes who gave their lives in service to their country, state, and community are never forgotten. Each year, a new honoree is added to the memorial. This year's event will pay tribute to five brave men: Master Sergeant Charles L. Price III, U.S. Army Second Lieutenant Darryn Deen Andrews, U.S. Army Sergeant Christopher Wilson, Texas State Game Warden Sergeant Joshua Clouse, Cameron Police Department Sheriff David Greene, Milam County Sheriff's Department "Our goal is to preserve their memories, uplift their families, and remind our community of the values of service and sacrifice," said event organizer Bobbie Wiesman. The day's schedule includes a motorcycle ride, a memorial program, and a golf scramble, with lunch from Hecho en Texas. Event Itinerary – Saturday, October 25, 2025 10:00 AM – Motorcycle riders meet at Brookshire Brothers in Rockdale, TX 10:30 AM – Ride departs for Cameron Country Club 11:00 AM – Riders arrive; golf team check-in 11:30 AM – Memorial Program honoring 2025 Honorees 12:00 PM – Lunch from Hecho en Texas (pulled pork sandwiches) 1:00 PM – 18-Hole Golf Scramble begins (shotgun start) 5:30 PM – Awards Ceremony for top three teams Funds raised will cover event expenses, with any surplus donated to Intrepid Care, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting active military, veterans, and first responders through outdoor and community experiences.
