Elizabeth Luevanos, superintendent for Milano ISD, passed away Monday. She was recovering from an auto versus pedestrian accident. Acting Superintendent Kevin Terry said, “We lost a member of our family today and it hurts. She was an outsider, no clue about country life, but she adapted and loved and supported our kids.”
TISD Gears Up for Annual Veterans Day Celebration
Thorndale Independent School District will honor local veterans with its annual Veterans Day Celebration on Tuesday, Nov. 11. The event will begin with a complimentary breakfast for all veterans and their guests in the TISD cafeteria from 7:15 to 7:50 a.m., followed by an assembly in the high school gym at 8 a.m.

The Advisory Committee had a good meeting on October 22, 2025, at my home. Out of our eight members, there were five here in attendance. They were: Jennifer Patschke Fisher, Class of 1970; Jami Pounders Becker, Class of 1998; Shirley Roepke Becker, Class of 1955; Darlene Hengst Waiser, Class of 1976; and yours truly, Charlene Tunstall Olbrich, Classes of 1953 & 1954.
Friday Night High School Football Results and Previews for Week 10
This week marks the end of season for some teams, while others have one more game remaining on their schedule for the first week in November. This last Friday night provided a little clarity on who will be in the playoffs. However, it also showed that some of these playoff races are still too close to call, and we’ll have to wait until the last week to see.
