Miss Thorndale crowned

Winners and finalists in the seven divisions of the Miss Thorndale Revue gather for photos following the pageant Thursday night at the Thorndale ISD cafeteria. The event was sponsored by the Thorndale Area Chamber of Commerce.

Caitlin Garcia was crowned Miss Thorndale at the 2016 Thorndale Revue Thursday night.

Jordyn Cassidy Smith was crowned first runner-up and Ashton Kiesling was voted Miss Congeniality at the 37th annual pageant sponsored by the Thorndale Area Chamber of Commerce. Smith was also awarded Miss Photogenic.

Other Miss Thorndale contestants were Rachel Krauser, who received the beautiful hair award; Calie Pipkin, Rainey Nicole Buchanan and Kristi Renee Becker.

Junior Miss Thorndale for 2016 is Madilynn Scruggs wtih Makaelyn Jade Vivas as first runner-up.

The new court will be presented Saturday at opening cermonies of the 26th annual Barbecue Cook-off sponsored by the Thorndale Volunteer Fire Department. More than 50 teams are expected to compete in the sanctioned cook-off Saturday at Thorndale Park. In addition to the cook-off, weekend events include horse shoe and washer pitching tournaments, domino tournament, kids games and a softball tournament that runs through Sunday. In addition, arts and crafts booths and concessions will be open all day Saturday at the park.
