Begging for warmer weather and a month or so will be begging for cooler weather. Oh!! Well!! Texas weather!!

Three weeks ago, my big score at Goodwill included a 30-year-old book called The Zone. It contains foundational elements to healthy living, so today you get a book review, the non-fiction variety. This book is one of the few that have had a long-term impact on my life, my eating, fitness, well-being, and it might be worth your time to read, too. It’s not that difficult to follow, which is why I’ve stuck to it for almost three decades.

It is not too early to begin thinking about Thorndale city elections, which will take place Saturday, May 2. The filing window began Wednesday, Jan. 14 and will end Friday, Feb. 13.Thorndale has three available seats on the council. At time of press, only one candidate, Steven Zuehlke, had filed for a spot on the ballot.
