BETTY BONL SIMMONS OCT. 9, 1933 - DEC. 22, 2025

Betty BonL Simmons, 92, of Temple, formerly of Buckholts, died Monday, Dec. 22, 2025 in a Temple nursing home. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 29, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron. Visitation was from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Simmons, a homemaker, was born Oct. 9, 1933 in Milam County near Cameron to Homer Lee and Bertha Lorain (Angell) Harris. She married Horace James Simmons on December 23, 1951 and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a son, Kevin Simmons.

She is survived by: her children, Randy Simmons of Temple, Robin Harkins and husband Barton of Burnet, Kimberly Gill of Temple, Sondra Simmons Kretschmar of San Marcos, Micah Simmons and wife Kristy, and Noah Simmons and wife Tamra; her grandchildren, Brandi Simmons, Bubba Joe Ward, Christopher Cook, Buddy Cook, Callie Angell, and Samantha Thompson, Cody Simmons, Christopher Simmons and Zac Simmons and numerous great grandchildren. The family of BonL would like to especially thank Mercy House nursing facility and employees for their loving care given to their mother and grandmother.
