Lenten services continue at Abiding Savior

Abiding Savior Lutheran Church will hold Lenten worship services at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays beginning March 16 and continuing through April 13. 

At 6 p.m. the church will have a Soup Supper.  Abiding Savior Lutheran Church is located at 806 East 12th St. For more information, phone 697-6121.

Benefit garage sale at Rising Star Baptist Church

Rising Star Baptist Church, Benefit Garage Sale, 1022 Texas St., Rockdale, Saturday, open to the public at 9 a.m. Items for the whole family, clothes, shoes, books, house ware items, furniture, fixtures, tools and much more.

Proceeds will benefit the church building fund.

Pre-anniversary banquet set at Progressive Baptist

The Progressive Missionary Baptist Church presents its Pre-Anniversary Banquet for Pastor Robert Johnson Sr. and his wife March 26, at the VFW Post on Highway 36 in Cameron from 6 to 10 p.m.

Tickets are $20 adults and $6 for children (5-11).

The theme is “A Servant With A Vision — Pressing Forward In Christ Jesus.”

Dr. Charles E. Maze, pastor of Mr. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in  Temple, will be the guest speaker.

Progressive Missionary Baptist celebrating anniversary

Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, 1000 West 6th St. in Cameron, presents its 12th pastor and wife anniversary, the Rev. Robert Johnson Sr. and Myrtle Johnson, on April 3, at 3:30 p.m.

The theme is “A Servant with a Vision — Pressing Forward In Christ Jesus.”

Guest speaker will be the Rev. Matthew Wilson of Grant Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Troy. Dinner will be served.

Celebrate recovery at Milam County Cowboy Church

Come join Celebrate Recovery every Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at Milam County Cowboy Church on Hwy 77 just north of Rockdale.  

Celebrate Recovery is a place for people who have hurts, habits and hangups. Jesus gave us eight ways to be happy.

Today we call them the beatitudes (Matthew 5:3-10). These eight principles are God’s road to recovery. Lead by George Clark. For more information, contact Clark at (512) 269-9639. Everyone is welcome.

Opportunities for youth to get involved at FUMC Cameron

United Methodist Youth Fellowship is open to all junior high and high school students. This group will be meeting at 5 p.m. for food, fun and fellowship at the Family Life Center on Sunday afternoons.

This is a non-denominational group open to all junior and high school students.

Children/Youth Choir meetings are held each Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m. at the Family Life Center at 2nd and Travis in Cameron. 

This group is open to all children and youth from 1st grade through 12th grade. 

This group performs during Sunday morning worship the fourth Sunday of each month.

Radio Ministry on the air
