Fleur de Lis Garden Club’s Yard of the month for April is Mrs. Maria Moreno’s front yard at 1502 W. Main Street. Mrs. Moreno’s flowers are magnificent and well tended. Congratulations!

Milam County Commissioners voted to table changes to tax collections in the county for at least two years during a meeting on April 10.

The Cameron Yoemen baseball team hosted the Lexington Eagles on Wednesday, April 10. Cameron was victorious over Lexington, winning 12-1 in six innings.

Cameron’s Yierra Flemings is headed to the Regional Track Meet this weekend after collected four first place finishes at the Area Track Meet last week in McGregor.

The Yoe High Tennis Team competed in the Thrall Invitational Tournament on Wednesday and Thursday of this week.

Last week we spoke of resources available to Milam County Folks when it comes to our children.

I honestly believe one of the best things we could do is to eliminate the need for a Child Abuse Awareness Month, but here we are again.

April 8 will bring us all an opportunity to view a total solar eclipse, the last eclipse occurred Aug. 23, 2023. This is one of those once-in-a-lifetime opportunities for many people.

The Bulldog track team garnered an Area Championship last weekend in Thrall.

Several of them will compete at the Regional Meet on April 19-20 at Texas A&M Kingsville.

The Thorndale Lady Dogs softball team clinched the District title with a 15-1 record.
